March is called Yayoi

In Japan, the month of March is called Yayoi.
The kanji "ya" means "increasingly" or "at last",
and the kanji "sei" means "to sprout" or "to grow thickly".

In spring, many flowers bloom and insects and birds also begin to be active.
The word "Yayoi" expresses this scene.

It is also often used in names and place names.
The Yayoi period is the period from around the 10th century BC to the middle of the 3rd century AD, and the name comes from the name of the place where earthenware was excavated, Yayoi-cho (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo).
